01 Inductive Technology

The inductive display case adopts electromagnetic technology to transfer electric power from the display case to the LED modules, like the wireless charger on the market. 

The inductive coil in the display case delivers electromagnetic power during operation. The body of the LED module receives the electromagnetic power, converts it to electric power, and lights up the LED.

02 Inductive Display Case

The display case is powered by a 5V, 2A USB type-C power supply, the same as mobile phone power adapters nowadays. 

Once powered on, the embedded coil starts to deliver the electromagnetic power, and its location is marked by a different texture on the display case. It is recommended to place the LED module body inside the textured area to receive the best inductive performance. 

Besides the horizontal location, the vertical distance between the display case and the module body affects the performance as well. The farther the distance, the weaker the inductive power and the dimmer the LED.

03 Inductive LED Module

The LED module consists of two parts: the module body and the LED with a 10-cm enamel wire. To achieve the best reception efficiency of electromagnetic power, the module body should be placed in an upright position so the coils of the display case and module body are in parallel alignment.

The adjustable enamel wire offers greater flexibility to install the LED in a small compartment. You can preform the shape of the enamel wire in the right position and direction. In addition, it extends the distance between the module body and LED, so the LED can be placed farther away from the effective inductive distance.

04 Things you should know

  • Do not place any large metallic objects on the display case.

  • It is advised to use a 5V/2A power adapter for power supply purposes. (NOT included in the packing.)  Even a power bank with the same ratings can be used instead; we cannot guarantee all power banks will function properly. In some circumstances, the power bank may give strange responses.

  • The vertical effective distance varies for different models. For example, the vertical effective distance of CA-101 is 10 cm. This specification is listed on the product page of each model.

  • The LED module still works when it is placed outside the coil area (textured area). However, the effectiveness will be reduced.

  • The module body should be placed in an upright position so the coil of the display case and module body are in parallel alignment in order to achieve the best inductive performance.

  • When installing multiple LED modules in the same compartment, try to reserve a distance of around 0.5 cm between each module. Putting them too close together may weaken the inductive effectiveness.

  • The power consumption of each LED module is very small when comparing to the power generated from the inductive coil. So, a display case can light up over a hundred LED modules at the same time, when space is allowed. 

  • There is no fixed way to install the LED module inside your scale models or ornaments. Your creativity is the key. You can also check out our demos for reference purposes.
